On May 22nd, Michaela will be teaching a free Chinese Medicine class at Two Trees Healing Center, offering pearls of wisdom for the coming season. Summertime is the time that we come alive here in the Green Mountains. In this class, we will be learning about how to adapt to the changes of the Summer months to live in harmony with nature in your body, mind and spirit. We will discuss how best to avoid illness and nourish ourselves during the Summer months with food, self-care and understanding of the changes taking place in nature and in our selves.
This class is part of a series of classes that Michaela is offering throughout the year. The next two classes in the series (Fall and Winter) will take place at the Brattleboro Food Co-op. For more information and to register, please visit the Brattleboro Food Co-op’s website: http://www.brattleborofoodcoop.coop/
From the Co-op’s Website:
“Squirrels gather nuts and seeds in August to last them the winter, bears slow down their metabolism to conserve energy in their snowy dens, humans ate bitter greens in the spring to detoxify their body, geese fly south in the fall to warmer weather...all these natural rhythms, cycles and seasons have guided our lives for thousands of years.
In this class with Michaela Wood LAC, you will learn to prepare for the coming season by relating what is happening in our natural world, to what is happening in our bodies, minds & spirits so that we can learn how to care for ourselves with food, self-care and understanding. This class is designed with all the family in mind so that adults and kids alike can benefit from traditional Chinese medicine teachings. There will be tastings of seasonal nourishing foods.”
